Description

So I LOVE doodling creatures in my notebook and this one just stood out, so BOOM species.

-Upper right-hand corner (orange paper) is the original sketch
-Left hand-corner is an average adult with just generalized markings
-Below adult is a baby with generalized markings
-And lower right is a close up head view of a young adult.

And the color range is very generalized and not limited to only those colors.

Kromme-pars (Ker-om-par) are antelope-like horse hybrids. They are herbivorous and survive off of the shrubbery and grasses that grow in the grasslands and on the outskirts of forests.

Their antlers, which curve straight up from their scalp, never stop growing. When their body matures and stops growing their horns start to come in. Since their antlers get so tall once they become adults they're almost forced to live out in the open, for fear of low hanging branches. Their horns could get tangled or even broken in the bows of trees. In fact, it is not uncommon to see wild kromme-pars wandering around with two different height antlers. Often times kromme-pars (of both genders) will get into fights about mates or when protecting their young.

They roam in large herds sometimes ranging from twenty-five to fifty adults. Kromme-pars like to stick to the land that they are accustomed to such as breeding and sleeping grounds. They breed every two years and do not mate for life.

It takes ten months for a newborn kromme-par to fully develop inside the mothers womb. Once born it will be another nine until the young foal is ready to live without its mother within the sanctity of the herd. It takes a total of three years before a kromme-par is physically mature. At three years they loose any extra baby fat or fluff and also stop growing, once they reach maturity their antlers will start to grow in.

Female kromme-pars can have litters of up to two foals, on rare occasions. Anymore then two can cause dangerous health issues to both the mother and the babies. Most of the time, except in special cases, if the female is impregnated with twins one of the twins will be smaller than the other and will be considered a runt. These runts, while much smaller than the rest of the adults, are just like any other kromme-pars.

Runts are very rare, since they usually die during birth or of exposure within the first year or two of their lives. Runts are extremely sought after as pets since they're smaller. *They can also suffer from muscular and skeletal problems and even trouble breathing.

Newborn kromme-pars are born with all of their patterns and colorations, and these will not change upon maturity.

There are no features, other then the obvious ones that come along with different genders, that can be used to differentiate between the two sexes. Both genders have horns and all can have a huge range of different colors.

Their markings can be varying types of stripes, spots, splotches, and dapples. All their colors are earthy tones such as tan, different reds, browns, greys, dark orange, and various shades of musty green.

They have also been known to breed with deer, horses, and other hooved animals/creatures their size. These crosses are also quite rare but have been seen. Crosses are excepted into the herds their mothers belong to, but if only the father is a kromme-par then the offspring will be shunned and chased away.
